Meanwhile, Back At The Ranch
March 24, 2010
Anyone else here remember Bonanza? The western TV series that ran for 14 seasons, with Hoss and Lorne Greene and a bunch of pretty-boy actors doing the rancher thing- and, of course, the unforgettable theme tune? Whenever they cut from the action to the ranch, that phrase appeared on screen…
Here at ScrawlBug, things have been happening since the New Year.
Mostly, I’ve been away, dealing with a lot of real-life hassle that you quite simply don’t want (or need) to know about, but there’s also been movement on the freelancing front – in the right direction.
For the moment, I’m just posting to get back into the swing of things. More to come.
How are you guys, anyway?

Hello England!
This is Australia.
May I say you’re (still) looking lovely tonight?
Here are our points …
Scraulberg, a’ Speik le Lobsteur:
Dix Points!
I had just thought a few times over the past few months, “Where’s that ScrawlBug dude been?’
This is Australia Too!
Welcome back, nice to see you alive and typing
Thank you all – it’s good to be back and somewhat bizarre that I was missed. You people obviously lack insanity to keep you busy.
Nice to see you back, Spike. Sanity, though, is a mythical beast that doesn’t exist. My wife got caught by immigration a little while back – so we had to pay a fine. I’m looking for a new job, trying to get one before we head to Canada for a vacation and my first trip home in five years. We have to move to a smaller apartment one week before the end of my current contract. I have two books ready for layout, and two new ones being commenced, and I’m writing a new novel. I went from having just two insane classes per day to five (just try teaching preschool to little kids who don’t speak English and get back to me about sanity).
On a positive note, I’m reading and writing a lot more than I have in years. Writing is a great way to escape. I think I’ve called freelancing too time intensive when I’ve got more important things going on all the time. Instead, I’m focusing on my fiction and directing the art that goes with it.
The blog, however, has definitely been a casualty.
Cheers.
Steven: Damn, it’s good to hear from you! Sounds like the Great Beast has decided to turn its angry stare upon you at the moment… I shall cross my fingers that everything works itself out. Sort of like sand falling through a colander – you either end up with the lumps or a very cool Zen garden. Let’s hope your situation turns out like the latter!
