Earnings Updated
July 1, 2009
Just a short note to point out that the Earnings Blog has been updated for June. It was an odd month, with my first eBook being published on Lulu and one freelance project finishing. Nothing much else happened. All in all, a steady month.
I should have a lot more info on the publishing project in the future, covering everything from hiring to writing, building to proofing.

Well, still not a truckload of money – no where near the easy six figure income generated from home. Certainly not great on the hourly breakdown – but you’ve got upward movement. It’s got to be encouraging that you’ve increased your income by almost 40% between last month and this month, and about 8x what you had just a few months ago.
Navigating some more around your blog, I’m finding constant content to be something I’d like to read about your involvement and experience.
If any ‘average Joe’ is going to make it in this freelance business, it’s you Spike.
Love your openness Spike… no clue what your blog traffic is, but google adsense may make sense… I count it as writing income in my head. It’s my writing that brings folks to the blog.
Steven: Very encouraging indeed. And I barely even looked for work last month, to be honest: there’s plenty out there and if you can provide reliable service, it’s easier to find. I’ll do something about CC some time: need to refresh my views on it since they rebuilt their site!
Anne: Thanks – open is best, I say! You may think I’m mad, but I specifically chose to host ScrawlBug on WordPress.com so that I couldn’t add AdSense. I wanted it to be the one place where money doesn’t matter, where I can write whatever I feel like writing – without the pressure of keywords, unique visits, clicks and all the rest!
